Come for the Wildlife, Come Back for the Staff

One recurring theme we hear from our past guests is that while the fishing and wildlife spotting was as amazing as they expected, it was the things that they didn’t necessarily expect that made their trip so special—like our staff.

Our amazing staff prides itself on creating an incredible experience for every guest. Whether they’re serving up delicious meals or answering questions about Malcolm Island or wildlife, or providing a fishing tip, they’re always on hand to make every moment special.

“Beautiful and elegant nook on Malcolm Island in the coastal region of British Colombia! Great fishing, whale watching; just amazing wildlife observation in general. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly as well! We were blessed to spend some time of retreat there.” -Tify Clark (Review via Facebook)

Finding Peace on Remote Malcolm Island

There are plenty of Vancouver Island fishing lodges to choose from. But it’s Sointula Lodge’s remote location on beautiful Malcolm Island that makes our trips so unique. While Malcolm Island is easy to get to, thanks to its location off the coast of Vancouver Island, with ferry access and seaplane service direct to the island, once you arrive, you’ll feel as though you’re a world away. Our Lodge features luxurious accommodations and amenities, so you won’t be roughing it. But just outside of your cabin, you’ll find spectacular views of the remote, untouched wilderness that surrounds you.

Although you might be planning to pack your days with fishing and exploring, it’s impossible to not feel the peace and tranquility of our remote location.

“Just returned from a magnificent, luxurious fishing trip at [Sund’s Lodge]

We spent four days and three nights on remote Malcolm Island living in one of the fabulous, lovely log cabins. Very early morning rise and ten hours on the water but it was worth every moment. It wasn’t just about fishing, it was the peace, the total relaxation, the stunning scenery,  being at one with creation and experiencing a total  spoiling at [Sund’s Lodge].” -Sheila Sanadh (Review via Facebook)

Not Just for Fishing Enthusiasts

While we might be best known as a fishing lodge, Sointula Lodge isn’t just for dedicated fishing enthusiasts. In fact, you don’t need to have ever cast a line to book one of our Fishing Packages! Our experienced staff is there to show you the ropes and help you catch your very first fish.

Our Wilderness Packages are also available for those who would prefer to customize their visit. You can still spend some time fishing, as well as enjoy wilderness tours, hiking, and more.

“The term “trip of a lifetime” really applies to this week. Beautiful surroundings, great food, awesome fishing, great people. It doesn’t get much better than that. Plus, my wife proved that she has an inner fisher-woman by landing her first salmon, a 31 lb King Salmon. That might not mean much to my Midwestern friends, but they have a special name for it out here -Tyee. Only a handful were caught last season.” -Sven Richard (Review via Facebook)

“I am not nor never have I been a fishermen the thought never interested me in the least. I had the opportunity to visit [Sunds Lodge] and they ‘hooked’ me!  The whole experience shall be in my top memory moments and the bonus was I caught a 35 pound Tyee! The guides, scenery and food fit for the queen that I got to be for this journey was an impeccable experience and one that has changed me.” -Julie Hawkes (Review via Facebook)
