When To Visit

Best Months to Visit

If you ask us, there’s no bad time of the year to visit Vancouver Island! But one of the most common things people still wonder about is when to visit Vancouver Island. If you’re planning a trip to Vancouver Island, we’ve compiled some helpful info about local weather and wildlife below.

In the early days of May and June, Vancouver Island completes its transformation from spring to summer, with long, warm days followed by chillier nights that are ideal for campfires. July and August offer the best Vancouver Island summer weather, and July is the first month visitors can glimpse the local orca whales!

If you’re an angler wondering when to visit Vancouver Island for fishing, know that while there are plenty of saltwater bottom fish from May to October, it’s better to visit from July to October if you want to catch saltwater or river salmon.
